PRIORITIES FOR
2025 TO 2029
1. Growth Strategy
- Engage local Portuguese-language media to profile relaunched Chamber.
- Grow membership across Canada through social media and other tools.
- Launch e-newsletter to profile member companies, people, and events.
- Engage members in building out a truly national organization.
2. Organizational Excellence
- Appoint Audit & Governance Committee to report quarterly to members.
- Appoint Membership Committee to drive national membership growth.
- Appoint Trade & Events Committee to organize trade missions, other events.
- Appoint Policy & Communications committee to coordinate advocacy and public relations activities.
- Elect/appoint a national president, regional vice-presidents, and other officers, as necessary.
3. Business and Community Development
- Ensure regional business issues are identified and appropriate advocacy follows, as approved by the Board.
- Join the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
- Cultivate relationships with like-minded local business and cultural organizations across Canada.
4. Trade Promotion and Bi-Lateral Relations
- Sign Memoranda of Understanding with Câmara de Comércio Canadá-Portugal and with the Portuguese Embassy in Ottawa.
- Identify key sectors of focus for trade promotion activities.
- Commit to hosting 1-2 Portuguese business delegations to Canada.
- Commit to sponsoring 1-2 Canadian business delegations to Portugal.
